Fridge or Oven Down in Hialeah, FL? Same- or Next-Day Repair
Hialeah, FL, in northwest Miami-Dade County, is the second-largest city in the county, with tightly packed neighborhoods of houses, duplexes and apartments on both sides of the Palmetto Expressway. It is also the home of historic Hialeah Park, the old racetrack known for its flock of flamingos. When a refrigerator, freezer or oven quits in a Hialeah home, Emergency Fridge Repair can send an experienced technician same- or next-day. Refrigeration is the core of our South Florida work, from fridges and freezers to ice makers and wine coolers, and we take care of ovens, ranges and cooktops as well.

Give Us the Address Exactly as It's on Your Mail
Hialeah has its own street numbering, separate from the grid used across most of Miami-Dade County. West 49th Street in Hialeah, for example, is the same road that the county grid calls NW 103rd Street. When you book, give the address the way it appears on your mail, add the nearest cross street, and mention whether it's a duplex or a unit at the back of the lot. That small detail gets the technician to the right door without a second phone call.

A Fridge Door Left Open Overnight
Someone grabs a late snack, the door doesn't quite latch, and in the morning the fridge is warm and the freezer has a coat of frost. Here's how to handle it.
Sort the food first:
- Read a thermometer if you have one in the fridge. Under USDA guidance, perishable food that sat above 40°F for more than 2 hours should be thrown out.
- Meat, poultry, seafood, milk, soft cheese and leftovers are the first things to discard if they were warm for hours.
- Frozen food that still has ice crystals can go back into the freezer.
Then help the fridge recover:
- Shut the door firmly and keep it closed. A refrigerator can take several hours to pull its temperature back down.
- Look for heavy frost on the freezer's back panel. If it's thick, it may block the air that cools the fresh-food side until the coil defrosts.
- Work out why the door stayed open: an overfilled door bin, a drawer sticking out, or a fridge that has lost its slight backward tilt.
Book a visit if the fridge isn't back to 40°F or colder by the next day, or if frost keeps building. The technician can run a manual defrost, test the defrost parts and check the door seal and the hinges.
A Gas Burner With a Yellow Flame
A healthy gas flame is mostly blue, with even, steady cones all around the burner. A flame that is mostly yellow or orange, lifts away from the burner, or leaves black soot on the bottom of your pans tells you the gas isn't burning cleanly.
Common reasons:
- The burner cap is off-center after cleaning.
- The ports are clogged with boiled-over food or cleaner residue.
- The burner head is still wet, which can also make the igniter click.
- The oven burner's air shutter needs adjusting, a job for a technician.
What to do:
- Turn the burner off and let it cool, then lift off the cap and the head and clear the ports with a straightened paper clip. Skip toothpicks; they can snap off inside.
- Dry every piece completely, and set the cap back flat and centered.
- Keep a carbon monoxide alarm in the home, as CDC recommends wherever gas appliances are used.
If you smell gas at any point, don't flip lights or appliances on or off. Leave the house, then call the gas company or the fire department from outside. Once they say it's safe, the technician can check the range, the burners and the connections.
An Oven That Browns One Side Faster
Cookies dark on the left and pale on the right, or a cake that rises unevenly, can come from the oven or from the way it's loaded.
- Leave space around the pans. Air needs a couple of inches on each side to move; a pan pushed against the wall bakes unevenly.
- Use one rack at a time when testing, set in the middle.
- Turn convection off for the test. If the problem disappears, the convection fan or its element may be at fault.
- Look at the elements on an electric oven for a break or a dull section; on a gas oven, an uneven burner flame can be the reason.
If one side still browns faster with a single pan in the middle, the technician checks the elements or the burner, the convection fan and the temperature sensor.

The fridge still isn't cold after the door was shut. How long should I wait?
Give it several hours. If it's not at 40°F or below by the next day, book a visit.
Why is my gas burner flame yellow?
A crooked cap, clogged ports or a wet burner, usually. Clean and dry it; if it stays yellow, have it checked.
I smell gas in the kitchen. Should I call you first?
No. Leave the house and call the gas company or the fire department from outside.
Do I need a carbon monoxide alarm with a gas range?
