Fridge or Oven Down in Opa-locka, FL? Same- or Next-Day Repair
Opa-locka, FL is a small city in northern Miami-Dade County, founded in 1926 by aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss and laid out around an Arabian Nights theme. The domed, Moorish Revival City Hall and streets such as Sharazad Boulevard and Ali Baba Avenue still carry that idea, and Opa-locka Executive Airport sits at the edge of the city. If a refrigerator, freezer or oven gives out in an Opa-locka home, Emergency Fridge Repair sends an experienced technician same- or next-day. Refrigeration is the core of our South Florida work, from fridges and freezers to ice makers and wine coolers, and our technicians take care of ovens, ranges and cooktops as well.

A Range That Tips Forward
Freestanding and slide-in ranges are heavy, but much of that weight sits toward the back. Rest a full roasting pan on the open oven door, or let a child climb on it, and a range that isn't secured can tip forward onto whoever is standing in front of it. For that reason, ranges sold in the US come with an anti-tip bracket, a metal piece fastened to the floor or the wall that catches one of the rear legs and holds the range down.
How to check yours:
- Switch off the burners and the oven and let everything cool.
- Grip the rear edge of the cooktop and gently try to tilt the range forward. The owner's manuals describe this test; a range that lifts more than slightly isn't held by its bracket.
- Look low at the back with the storage drawer or the kick panel removed; on many models the bracket and the leg are visible from there.
- Check again after the range has been moved for cleaning, a floor job or new countertops. The leg often comes to rest just short of the bracket.
If the bracket is missing, has pulled loose from cracked tile or doesn't fit your range, say so when you book. The technician will look at it during the visit and tell you what your range needs. On a gas range, the flexible connector behind it gets a look too, because pulling a range out is the easiest way to kink or strain it.
A Fridge Door That Drifts Open
Most refrigerators are meant to stand a little higher at the front than at the back, so the doors swing shut under their own weight. That tilt can disappear when the front feet settle into soft vinyl flooring, when the fridge gets nudged during mopping, or when the door shelves carry gallons of milk and heavy jars. Then the door stops a finger's width short of closed, humid South Florida air slips in, frost spreads over the freezer packages, and the compressor runs far longer than it should.
Try this first:
- Open each door halfway and let it go. It should drift closed and seal without a push.
- Lay a level across the top of the fridge, front to back. The front should read slightly higher than the rear.
- Raise the front legs or rollers the way your manual shows; it usually takes only a few turns.
- Move the heaviest items from the door shelves to the main shelves.
- Clear anything that stops the door, such as a crisper drawer that isn't pushed all the way in.
If the doors still won't close after leveling, a hinge pin, a hinge bushing or the door's closing cam may be worn, or the gasket may have hardened and lost its grip. Those are parts a technician can replace. A door left ajar for weeks also makes the defrost system work overtime, so frost on the back wall of the freezer is worth mentioning when you book.
A Gas Burner That Keeps Clicking
On most gas ranges, turning any knob to LITE closes a small switch behind that knob, and a spark module fires the igniters, often on every burner at once. When the flame catches and you turn the knob to a cooking setting, the clicking should stop. If it goes on and on, with the knob on a setting or even with every knob off, something is keeping that circuit closed or the range isn't sensing the flame.
What usually causes it:
- Water or cleaner got into the burner after a pot boiled over or a heavy wipe-down. Moisture around the electrode lets the spark leak away.
- A burner cap sits off-center, so the flame never reaches the electrode on models that watch for it.
- A knob switch is wet, greasy or worn out and stays closed.
What you can do:
- Turn the knob off. If the clicking keeps going with every knob off, unplug the range or switch it off at its breaker.
- Take off the grates and caps and let the burner bases air-dry for several hours.
- Set each cap back flat and centered on its base.
- Spray cleaner onto a cloth, not toward the knobs or straight onto the burners.
If the clicking returns once everything is dry, or a burner won't light at all, book a visit. The technician tests the switches, the spark module and the electrodes, then replaces whichever part is at fault. If you ever smell gas with no flame lit, leave the knobs alone, get everyone out of the house and call the gas utility from outside.

Emergency FAQ
Opa-locka Repair FAQ
My range lifts forward when I lean on the open oven door. Is that dangerous?
Yes. Stop using the door as a shelf and have the anti-tip bracket checked before you cook again.
I pulled the range out to clean behind it. What should I check afterward?
That the rear leg is back inside the bracket and, on a gas range, that the connector isn't kinked.
Why won't my fridge door close by itself?
The fridge has probably lost its slight backward tilt. Raise the front legs or rollers as the manual shows.
The doors close now, but the gasket still leaves a gap. What next?
Book a visit; a hinge part or the gasket itself may need replacing.
My gas igniter clicks with every knob off. What should I do?
Cut power to the range at the plug or the breaker, let the burners dry, and book a visit if the clicking returns.
Does a clicking igniter mean a gas leak?
Not by itself. A gas smell does; if you notice one, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside.
Are 33054, 33055 and 33056 all on your map?
Yes. Miami Gardens shares all three, so the form checks your street address too.
How long is the repair warranty?
It covers the part and the labor for up to 6 months.
