Drinks Not Cold Enough? Commercial Beverage Cooler Repair in Metro Atlanta

Glass-door drink coolers, countertop coolers and can and bottle merchandisers in stores, cafés, gyms, offices and food trucks across the Atlanta metro.

Nobody buys a lukewarm soda twice. A beverage cooler by the register or along the wall of a store sells drinks because they're cold, and customers notice in one touch when they aren't. The cooler may still be humming and lit up, but the cans in the front row feel room temperature and the bottled water sweats in the customer's hand.

EmergencyFridgeRepair.com repairs commercial beverage coolers for businesses across Atlanta. Call (770) 334-4410 and a person answers 24/7, or use the form on this page. Visits are same- or next-day, and we'll tell you the earliest real opening on the call.

Where Beverage Coolers Struggle

Right by the front window. Stores like to put the drink cooler where customers see it, and in Atlanta that can mean afternoon sun on the glass for hours. Sunlight heats the cabinet and the product inside it.

Tucked into a corner. A cooler squeezed between a wall and a shelving unit, or with boxes stacked against its grille, can't breathe. Many beverage coolers pull air in and push it out at the bottom front; others vent at the back or top.

Next to other equipment. Coffee brewers, hot food cases and ice machines give off heat. A beverage cooler placed beside them works harder all day.

Dusty, busy floors. Store floors carry dirt, receipt paper and dust that end up on the condenser. Gyms add lint from towels; food trucks add grease and road dust.

Lots of customers, lots of door openings. Every time someone opens the door and stands there reading labels, warm air spills in. Self-closing doors help only if the closers still work.

Technician checking the condenser on a glass-door beverage cooler in a store

What We Check on a Beverage Cooler Visit

Before we arrive. We'll ask what kind of cooler it is (one, two or three doors, countertop or full height), the make and model from the data plate, what temperature you're reading, and where it sits. A photo of the cooler in its spot helps.

Diagnosis. The technician measures product and air temperatures, checks the condenser and its fan, the evaporator fan, the thermostat or controller, the start components and the compressor, the gaskets, door closers, door heaters, lights and drain. We also look at the location: sun, clearance and nearby heat.

Your decision. You hear what's wrong and what it takes to fix in plain words before any part goes in.

Repair and recovery. We install genuine or OEM-approved parts and watch the cooler start to pull down before we leave. If a part has to be ordered, we name it and set up the return. Beverage cooler repairs carry a warranty of up to 6 months on parts and labor.

Until We Get There

  • Stop adding warm stock. Let the cooler work on what's already inside.
  • Clear the grille and the space around it, then unplug the cooler before brushing off dust.
  • Pull the shade or move signs if direct sun is hitting the glass.
  • Check the plug and the breaker, especially if the cooler shares a circuit with other equipment.
  • Move milk, juice and any food items to a working refrigerator. Those need 41°F or below under the FDA Food Code; canned and bottled sodas and water can wait.
  • Write down the temperature on the display and any alarm you see.

Habits That Keep Drinks Cold

  • Load cold stock when you can, or restock a little at a time.
  • Rotate cans from back to front so the coldest ones are within reach.
  • Brush the condenser grille every month or two, more often on dusty floors.
  • Leave clearance around the vents the manual calls for.
  • Check door closers and gaskets for tears at the corners and doors that hang open.

Beverage Coolers We Repair

  • One-, two- and three-door glass-door drink coolers, swing or sliding doors.
  • Countertop beverage coolers by the register.
  • Slim and narrow merchandisers for tight store aisles.
  • Under-the-counter glass-door coolers in cafés and offices.
  • Beverage coolers in gyms, break rooms, lobbies and food trucks.
  • Branded drink coolers that your business owns and maintains.

We service self-contained commercial refrigeration units (5 lbs of refrigerant or less) per EPA Section 608 Type I requirements. We do not service walk-in coolers or remote/rack refrigeration systems.

Placed by a Drink Company?

Some beverage coolers in stores are owned by the drink company or distributor that placed them. If the cooler carries a brand and your business didn't buy it, check your agreement first: the owner may handle repairs. If the cooler belongs to you, we'll repair it like any other.

Repair or Replace a Beverage Cooler?

Fans, thermostats, controllers, start parts, gaskets, door closers, lights and door heaters are routine parts to replace, and many compressors are too. If the cabinet is rusting, the insulation is wet or the sealed system fails on an older, basic cooler, replacing it may be the smarter move. We'll walk you through both choices; the call is yours.

Beverage Cooler Makes We Service

We service True glass-door merchandisers and beverage coolers, along with drink coolers from other commercial makers.

We're an independent company with no ties to True, to any other manufacturer or to any beverage brand, and none of them endorses us. Names are used only to describe the equipment we repair. A cooler still under the maker's warranty is usually best handled through the dealer or manufacturer first.

Get the Drinks Cold Again

Drink cooler running warm? Call (770) 334-4410 — answered 24/7 — or send the form, and we'll call back to book your visit.

Signs Your Beverage Cooler Needs a Repair

  1. "The front row is never cold." A cooler that's working hard but losing the front of each shelf may have a weak evaporator fan, an iced coil or a door that doesn't seal along the edge.
  2. "We restocked it full of warm cases and it never caught up." A drink cooler is mainly built to hold cold drinks cold. Filling it with warm stock all at once gives it a big load, and a dirty condenser or a tired fan can leave it running for hours without getting there.
  3. "It runs all the time." A compressor that never cycles off is fighting heat it can't reject: a matted condenser, a failed condenser fan, direct sun or a spot too close to a heat source.
  4. "The compressor clicks, then stops, then clicks again." It's trying to start and can't. A start relay, overload or capacitor is a common cause.
  5. "The glass sweats on the outside on humid days." Some glass doors use heaters to stay clear. A failed heater or a door with a damaged seal lets moisture build up.
  6. "The lights are out." An LED driver or a door switch has failed. The cooling may be fine, but a dark cooler gets passed by.
  7. "Water drips from the bottom of the door." The condensate drain is clogged or the evaporation pan has overflowed.
  8. "It got louder last week." A fan blade rubbing its shroud, a loose fan motor or a compressor mount that has worked loose.

Emergency FAQ

Beverage Cooler Repair FAQ

What temperature should a beverage cooler run at?

Drink coolers commonly run in the mid- to upper 30s. If the cooler holds milk, juice or food, it must keep them at 41°F or below under the FDA Food Code.

Why are the drinks in front warmer than the ones in back?

Warm air comes in at the door each time it opens. A weak fan, a leaking gasket or a door that doesn't close fully makes the front rows warmer.

Can a beverage cooler chill warm cases quickly?

Many are designed mainly to hold drinks cold. Loading a full cooler with warm stock at once gives it a heavy load, so restock in smaller batches when you can.

Why does my cooler run all the time?

It's struggling to reject heat. A dirty condenser, a failed condenser fan, direct sun or a cramped spot are the usual causes.

The lights went out. Is that a cooling problem?

Usually not. It's often the LED driver or a door switch. We repair the lighting too.

The cooler has a soda logo on it. Can you fix it?

If your business owns it, yes. If the drink company placed it, check your agreement first, since the owner may handle repairs.

Is an older beverage cooler worth fixing?

Often. Most parts are replaceable. If the cabinet or insulation is failing, we'll tell you plainly.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Beverage cooler repairs are covered for up to 6 months on parts and labor.
